Monsoon season starts from June to September and the retreating monsoon lasts from October to November where Ashtamudi receives heavy rainfall. Trivandrum is the nearest airport – a drive from here to Ashtamudi will take you three hours only.

You can also take a train to Kollam and then take a taxi from there. The ride will be a short 45-minute one.
